About the role

We are seeking a Planner / Urban Designer to join our team on a 12-month fixed-term contract. In this role, you will work on innovative land use planning projects and develop strategy and policy responses in relation to complex urban and rural planning matters.

We are inviting candidates with demonstrated experience in strategic planning, landscape architecture or a related discipline. Together with a sound understanding of the NSW planning system, the successful applicant will have experience in local environmental plan amendment processes, application of urban design, landscape architecture or place-based planning principles. Strong analytical and stakeholder engagement skills will be highly regarded.

In this role, you will have the opportunity to work on the delivery of the City's compact growth model, as well as implementing urban and rural planning strategies and policies. You will join a team of highly skilled and passionate individuals focused on making the City a leader in urban and regional planning in NSW.

About you

You are a motivated and experienced strategic planner, landscape architect or urban design professional. You hold qualifications in Urban Planning, Landscape Architecture, Urban Design, Architecture, or a related discipline, along with experience in planning, landscape architecture or a similar field. Strong communication and stakeholder engagement skills are essential, as is the ability to manage projects and navigate complex planning matters. Knowledge of NSW planning legislation, your collaborative approach, strong communication skills, and commitment to delivering sustainable, place-based outcomes will see you thrive in this role.

• Competitive salary from $102.967,77 - 105,555.21, depending on your capabilities and experience + allowances + 12% superannuation
